Pour over is one of the methods that has become increasingly popular in recent years and there have been many surveys, discussions and studies to create a "recipe" for this Pour over Method.
Today, the Pour Over Method is not only available at competitions or specialty coffee shops. This is actually a "simple" way to make a cup of coffee. Check out these pour over tutorials:
What is the Pour-Over Method?
Discovered in the 1990s in Europe or before that in some other places, however, recently the Pour-Over manual method of brewing coffee has become popular at many specialty coffee shops.
Pour Over is simply understood with the rule, hot water passes through powdered coffee (ground coffee) and forms a flow of extracted coffee.
However, pour-over is a more complicated manual method of brewing coffee compared to other Methods.
In particular, Pour-over is completely suitable for "single origin" coffees with the characteristic of flavor and taste.
A cup of pour-over coffee needs to achieve 3 levels: clean, clear and full of flavor. You will feel the purity of the coffee, because the filter paper will block the "oil" extracted from the coffee. Besides, the uniform water pressure and temperature are also the factors that create the uniqueness of your cup of coffee.
The pour-over method does not change the taste of the coffee, but enhances the flavor and highlights your cup of coffee.
Besides, Pour Over manual coffee brewing method also has its limitations.
First, it is hand force that affects your water flow, similar to other Methods and including machine brewing.
The water flow will quickly contact the powdered coffee and penetrate, when the barista does not adjust the bracelet well, it will affect the "pressure" of the water on the powdered coffee. This results in uneven extraction resulting in undesirable flavors.
Not only that, the recipe of the pour-over manual method of brewing coffee is not specific and precise. Therefore, it is difficult for new baristas to get the "right way" for themselves.
