Today (April 12), the price of green coffee beans in Dak Lak, following the previous session, continued to increase by 200,000 VND/ton to 34.4 million VND/ton, recording the second consecutive increase in a week.
Robusta coffee prices on the ICE Futures Europe market and Arabica prices on the ICE New York exchange simultaneously increased.
Robusta coffee price delivered at Ho Chi Minh port, FOB price today increased by 10 USD from 1,565 USD/ton yesterday to 1,575 USD/ton.
New York market: Along with the London floor, the price of Arabica coffee futures on the ICE New York floor increased by 0.95-1.25 cents/lb.
Futures for delivery in May 2016 increased by 1.25 cents/lb to 124.6 cents/lb;
Futures for delivery in July 2016 increased by 1.05 cents/lb to 126.3 cents/lb;
Futures for September delivery rose 1.05 cents/pound to 127.95 cents/lb;
For November delivery, the price increased by 0.95 cents/lb to 130.1 cents/lb.
London market: On the ICE Futures Europe floor, following yesterday's session, the price of Robusta coffee futures continued to increase by 10-11 USD/ton, recording the 5th consecutive increase.
For delivery in May 2016, the price increased by 11 USD/ton to 1,559 USD/ton;
For delivery in July 2016, the price increased by 10 USD/ton to 1,585 USD/ton;
For September delivery, the price increased by 11 USD/ton to 1,601 USD/ton;
For November delivery, the price increased by 11 USD/ton to 1,616 USD/ton.
According to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association, the country's coffee exports in March 2016 reached 2,748,168 bags, down 66,534 bags over the same period last year. Meanwhile, export value-added instant coffee in March 2016 equivalent to 299,057 bags, down 14,023 bags compared to the same period last year.
Thus, the total volume of Brazil's coffee exports in March reached 2,997,225 bags, down 130,557 bags compared to March 2015.
According to the latest Traders Commitment Report, in the week ending March 5, the money management fund reduced its net long position of Arabica coffee by 48.53% on the New York Stock Exchange to 12,981 lots. down 54.06% of its net long position to 8,760 lots, while the Index Fund increased its net long position by 4.58% to 34,201 lots.
Also in the week ending March 5, speculators increased their net selling position of Robusta coffee by 15.55% on the London floor to 7,501 lots, equivalent to 1,250,166 bags.
