1. Raw materials:
- 1 kg of young copra
- 400 grams of white sugar
- 100 grams of sweetened condensed milk
- 30 grams of coffee.
- 2 tubes of fragrant vanilla

– Knives, plates, cutting boards, chopsticks, spoons
– Wide pan
3. Make coffee-flavored coconut jam:
Step 1:
– After buying coconut, you cut off the hard shell and use a knife to peel off the outer gray skin. Then cut the coconut in half and use a knife to slice or use a scraper to scrape the white copra into thin fibers and as long as possible.
Step 2:
– After you have the long coconut fibers to your liking, wash them with cold water about 3 to 4 water to get rid of the coconut oil layer. Then remove them, drain.
The reason for leaving the coconut oil layer is because if you want white jam, the fewer layers of coconut oil the better!
Step 3:
- After the coconut has drained. You proceed to mix coconut with sugar. Add more coffee to it and mix together. Mix for 10 to 12 minutes to infuse and the sugar also dissolves.
Note: You should marinate according to this recipe: 1kg of copra/ 400 grams of sugar/ 100 and 30 grams of instant coffee (black coffee) is the best. Marinate until the coconut fibers are clear and the sugar has dissolved.
Step 4:
- Put the pan on the stove and turn the heat up high. Pour the coconut mixture above into the pan. Cook until it boils, then reduce the heat to low. Use chopsticks to stir so that the coconut is evenly browned and not burnt.
Note: You should not stir too many times because the drying coconut will lead to broken into unsightly crumbs!
Step 5:
- Cook on the lowest heat possible until the water is gone and the sugar starts to stick to the coconut. At this time, we need to stir evenly and continuously.
- When you feel the coconut is a bit dry, you pour in the vanilla to make it fragrant. Stir well and then turn off the stove.
- So the coffee-flavored coconut jam is finished! Jam will have the fleshy taste of coffee mixed with the seductive aroma of milk and vanilla!
Note at the end of the article: Using sweetened condensed milk will increase the aroma and sweetness of the jam, so if you don't use it, increase the amount of sugar to 500 grams!
